 THOUGHT LIFE AND IMAGINATION MATTERS

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”
2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV

Countless time, energy, and money is spent on researching the power of the human's ability to think, imagine, and to visualize. How can we believe that does not REALLY matter what we saturates our mind.

Claims are made that it is possible to “Think yourself” rich, successful, thin, powerful, well, sexy, or charismatic.  It has been shown that with a degree of focus and determination that some people have achieved unprecedented levels of worldly success. Yet others spend an enormous amounts of their energy thinking and imagining things that can do serious damage to themselves or even to jeopardize their very soul.

Everything in existence was created according to the vision and imagination of God. He thought about it, envisioned it, and created it all. Man has since taken much of what God has created and imagined new ways to combine them in order to conceptualize something "new".

These powerful gifts of the mind, to conceptualize and to visualize, are a  continually unfolding mystery to us. However, it holds no mystery to God.  He knows the imaginations of our minds and our hearts. Proverbs 6:18 KJV says,  “An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief."  Where our minds go, our feet and life will follow. When these gifts are manifested in the heart of the devilishly wicked, their imaginations are darkened, and these people only seek to hurt and to destroy. They seek self-satisfaction and that which is popular in the world.

All people have thoughts that seem to "pop" out of nowhere and that are clearly not in agreement with the teachings of God's Word. If you experience a struggle within yourself regarding your thoughts, imagination, or that which saturates your heart and mind….Pray and seek Him. Call on God and He will deliver you from the temptations. This may sound like a cliche but it is not, it is a very relevant approach to dealing with an unwanted thought life. Evil will not dwell within the heart that is filled with constant thoughts of God. For where God is active, evil fears to tread.

Thought and imagination can give life to whatever it is focused on. If a hearts' focus is on a need in the world, community, or family then a solution will be cultivated and brought to life to help meet that need. But if a man's thought and imagination is focused on adultery, homosexual acts, or other sins then these are the evil thoughts that will be fed and manifest in his life. To sin is a choice... and... not to sin is a choice.    satan is always available to "pop" ungodly thoughts into the minds and imagination of any man or woman willing to nurture them. God is always present to give strength to the heart that seeks Him and prevent these ungodly thoughts from taking root and destroying their soul.

The problem is not the mind or the imagination, those are just where the symptoms are manifested, the problem is in the heart.
We are told in Philippians 4:8 KJV … “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Our imaginations and thoughts, our ability to dream and envision are all gifts to us from God. We were created in His image and when theses gifts are harnessed and used for His purpose they can accomplish magnificent things that give Him Glory.

Use your ability to think, to imagine, and to visualize to further deepen your walk with God. Use your gifts to bless the lives of others, and to bring the lost to Christ.

GOD LOVES YOU!!!
